Job Description

You responsibilities will be as follows:

  • Ensuring compliance with local and international regulatory requirements, through verification of training programs and implementation of procedures and operating policies.
  • In charge of all the ground handling equipment in accordance with company safety and operating procedures.
  • In collaboration with the Quality Department controls handling agent activities, records dissatisfactory services and introduces corrective measures in cases of non-conformity, and passes the information to the relevant departments.
  • In charge of the Loaders and Groomers and ensuring all the aircrafts maintain cleanliness with Fly 748 standards.
  • Ensures the serviceability of equipment prior to and after use to ensure safety and serviceability of equipment.
  • Reporting critical issues while performing the assigned task to the management.
  • Ensuring compliance with all SOPs and policies in order to meet or exceed regulatory standards and deliver the desired customer experience.
  • Leading the team to ensure we deliver consistently great customer experience at every touchpoint.
  • Resolving service challenges in a timely manner.
  • Maintain discipline and ensure that staff observes safe working practices as per company policies.
  • Completing flight/task reports as per company procedure.
  • Maintaining positive customer relationships during the assigned task.
  • Maintain awareness and brief all staff with regards to occupational/operational safety and adhere to standard procedures.
  • Pre-plan for adequate manpower and equipment as per work load and their effective deployment.
  • Ensure bags are sorted and handled according to the airline Service Level Agreement.
  • Ensure serviceability of all equipment at the sorting area, prompt reporting/recording of faults and follow up to ensure continuous operations.
  • Ensure accounting and reconciliation of all bags at the sorting area.
  • Constantly monitor staff to prevent baggage theft or pilferage and report any deficiency.
  • Trouble- shoots and liaises with Operations staff in case of problems with scanners or bags.
  • Ensure that interline transfer bags are accounted for and transferred timely to ensure On-Time Performance.
  • Embrace and maintain a positive safety culture, healthy and secure working environment in compliance with company procedures, regulatory authorities, and requirements of customer airlines.
  • Identify and report hazards, near misses, incidents, and accidents.
  • Adhere to the company’s principles and industry best practices

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience of working in a multi-cultural environment
  • Must have exceptional communication skills to effectively communicate with all customers and stakeholders, senior management, government agencies, emergency services to ensure that the operational plans and activities are executed efficiently and effectively.
  • Proven track record, good knowledge, and experience in all Airside Operations (Ramp, Traffic, ULDs, Baggage Handling, and Passenger Handling.
  • Understanding of airport and airline ground operations
  • Fully qualified on Weight and Balance (DCS database, Load Instruction Report, Load and Trimsheet, post-flight messages
  • Have knowledge of Airside Safety Management Systems.
  • Must be business-minded, creative, detail-oriented, and possess organizational skills.
  • Be able to work under minimum supervision and very effective in decision making
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills and ability to meet assigned deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written, and ability to direct the actions of others.
  • A team player with the ability to work with a multitude of departments and staff members of all levels.

Education and Experience

Education Required

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or equivalent in the related field.
  2. Recognized IATA Aviation qualification, ESMA, ENAC will be an added advantage.
  3. Good knowledge on Dangerous Good Regulation (DGR CAT6 qualification is an asset)

Experience Required

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Airside Operations
