Job Description
The Project Control expert is responsible for ensuring timely and cost efficient delivery of the project.
This is a 2-year project for the implementation of Energy Supply Improvement Investment Program in Afghanistan.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop standards and processes for review of contractor’s baseline and updated schedules
- Develop Earned Value Management cost loaded schedules and provide critical analysis of cost loaded schedules
- Create and implement different project management templates for gathering, tracking and verifying project’s progress for Quality Assurance team
- Track projects schedule and cost on timely manner and recommend for mitigation, if required
- Lead project planning and scheduling review meetings
- Investigate causes of variance between planned and earned/actual and recommend solutions or recovery plans
- Perform an independent delay analysis as part of any Contractor delay claim/s
- Participate in the process to develop mitigating strategies to maintain program goals and objectives
- Review Contractor’s baseline schedule and prepare audit report and recommend corrections
- Provide oversight and analysis of Contractor’s updated schedules. Conduct weekly schedule analysis meeting with subcontractor
- Develop standards and processes for review of contractor payment invoices
- Responsible for maintaining and training invoice auditing standards
- Create templates for checklists and invoice audit worksheets for invoice audits
- Responsible for review and audit contractor’s progress payment invoices
- Responsible for the development of Cash flow for all on-going projects based on analysis of Contractor’s schedule
- Prepare training materials and aids for training MS Project, Primavera and Project
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Qualifications to be successful in the role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- At least 8 years of experience in overseeing cost, invoice auditing and scheduling for construction projects
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or Project Scheduling Professional (PSP) Certification is required
- Proficient in managing simultaneous projects to meet costs/deadlines successfully
- Highly knowledgeable in MS Project, Primavera and Project
- Familiar with international standards relating to area of expertise
- Experienced in working in post-conflict countries is desirable
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills
