Job Summary

To assist the Legal Manager carry out board secretarial duties and give legal advice to the

Company to ensure that it is legally protected and that it adheres to all legal requirements.

 

Key Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Assisting in the vetting and drawing of contracts, lease, loan agreements and other legal documents
  • Assist in liaising with external lawyers on legal matters for or against the Company
  • Representing the Company in legal, civil and criminal court proceedings and ensuring timely gathering of evidence as required
  • Participating in review and formulation of legal policies and practices
  • Maintaining and filing all court proceedings as per established systems
  • Preparing legal documents as required
  • Participating in handling insurance and legal matters as and when required
  • Conducting internal training on legal aspect of the Company
  • Assist in preparing legal reports and opinions on matters involving the Company
  • Assisting in instituting legal proceedings to recover debts owed to the Company
  • Ensure policies and procedures are followed to avoid litigation against the Company
  • Any other assignments and responsibilities as may be required by the Supervisor

 

Education

  • Bachelor of Laws degree
  • CPS K
  • Computer literacy

Experience & Key Competencies

  • At least 2 years working experience, preferably in the insurance industry
  • Knowledge of Insurance related issues will be an added advantage;
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills;
  • High moral standing with impeccable integrity;
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills;
  • Enthusiastic, results oriented with excellent presentation skills;
  • Excellent team player.
